Coverage
A source-by-source account of what GovBidStream includes, what it does not include, and when each connector last succeeded.
Last updated July 20, 2026
Launch coverage: federal first
GovBidStream covers published federal opportunities from the SAM.gov Get Opportunities Public API.
| Source | Status | Refresh and limits |
|---|---|---|
| SAM.gov opportunities | Included | Incremental refreshes with pagination, retries, and stored snapshots |
| USAspending | Included | Used only for confidently matched historical award context |
| State and local portals | Not included | Added jurisdiction by jurisdiction after terms, robots, rights, and rate-limit review |
What a state page means
A state page initially contains federal notices whose source record identifies that state as a place of performance. It does not mean GovBidStream includes that state government’s procurement system.
Freshness rules
- “Last checked” is updated only after a successful source observation.
- A connector beyond its freshness threshold is marked stale.
- Zero-result anomalies and ingestion failures are logged for review.
- Archived records refresh less frequently than active records.
What is intentionally excluded
There is no nationwide state-and-local scraper. Pages missing a usable title, source, or enough public detail are not indexed. Filter combinations are search tools, not thousands of crawlable landing pages.
